Editing a story

If you followed the previous article, you should have created two stories on your Drupal website. What if you need to edit them later? There are two ways.

The first, possibly the easiest, is to go to the web page containing the story you want to edit. You can do this by going to your home page, finding the story listed there, and clicking through to the page.

Once you have found the story, you will notice some tabs at the top of the content. One is labelled “View”, one is labelled “Edit”, there may be others. If you don't see any tabs, you are probably not logged in as administrator.

Click the Edit tab. This will take you through to a page where you can edit the title and body of the story (and the other settings, which we will look at next).

Save your changes by hitting the Save button. You can also use the Preview button to preview the changes (ie see what they will look like without actually saving them). This form also allows you to use the Delete button to permenantly delete the story. Delete cannot be undone!

The second method of editing a story, which is more versatile, is to go to the Content management page, which is described later in the tutorial.
